Now, my guess is that although you’re viewing this site it’s pretty scary thinking about going to therapy or seeing a “shrink” as they used to call it, all the while thinking about having to talk to someone you do not know, about things that may make you uncomfortable, sad, angry, overjoyed, or embarrassed. Relax, Relate, Release!! I would like to reassure you that this process is here to aid in your growth. There are certain elements necessary in therapy in order to maintain a space of healing, growth, and optimism. Yet, you are not responsible for maintaining those elements. That is the job of the psychotherapist, my job. It is essential that I provide a judgment-free space, a space that pushes you but is yet comfortable and safe. Please be aware that it is important to be open about your experience as it unfolds, as this will aid in your “self-rebuilding.” As a psychotherapist, I am honored that you chose this journey as your vehicle to restoration. So, welcome to the first step towards healing!!
